The Notenspur Night of home-made music

Music is cultivated in the music city of Leipzig not only in professional ensembles of international standing. Music is an art that lives and is practiced in the citizenry. The fact that the love of music in Leipzig has its basis in the city's homes has been brought to life and made publicly visible in a concentrated way during the previous Notenspur Nights of House Music 2015 to 2019. Right at the first time, an unprecedented dimension of civic music-making in a city was achieved: about 400 volunteer musicians, about 100 volunteer dedicated hosts, more than 1,500 visitors at 60 house music venues. The associated world record for the "largest number of simultaneous concerts in one city" (previously Ankara with 41 concerts) highlights the unique situation of Leipzig's musical life worldwide and has generated considerable media interest. At the 2nd edition in 2016, there were 62 house music venues, the participation of musicians and visitor interest was as great as at the premiere, in 2017 there were almost 70 house music evenings, in 2018 there were more than 80 - the interest among hosts and guests continued to grow. In 2019, together with the Beethoven Society, we very successfully organized the "Notenspur Festival of House Music" on a December weekend.

The uniformly positive response from hosts, musicians and the media has encouraged Notenspur Leipzig e.V. to continue the established format. In the meantime, the organization and implementation of the event can draw on a number of experiences from previous years.

The group "Ysilia" would also have loved to play for the house music guests. Instead they gave an

Online Concert LIVE at the Music Archive of the German National Library on 21.11.2020, 7 p.m.

Representing all 2020 canceled concerts of the Notenspur Night of House Music, we present here video messages with music. Some musicians and/or hosts who have registered for the NNdH this year have sent us small music messages, which were recorded privately and in compliance with hygiene regulations.

Event cancellation 6th Notenspur Night of home-made Music

In light of developments related to the Corona pandemic and the regulations issued to contain it, the 6th Notenspur Night of House Music on November 21, 2020, as well as the associated festival "European Traces of Notes - Building Bridges" (November 18-21, 2020), unfortunately could not take place.

Notenspur Leipzig e.V. has been organizing the Notenspur Night of House Music every year since 2015. It is a special Leipzig form of citizen participation in the practice of culture. In 2020, under the motto "Hausmusik geht ins Revier" (House Music Goes to the Territory), it should be possible for musicians and hosts from the districts of Leipzig and North Saxony to register for the first time.
