Integration of New Arrivals from Other Cultures

Notenspur Leipzig e.V. consciously refers to the long tradition of musical sharing in the music city of Leipzig and the integrative power of music in its activities for the integration of immigrants from other cultures. Without international musical exchange, Leipzig as a city of music would not exist. Music speaks all languages and connects across cultural and linguistic boundaries. It sensitizes people to each other and creates a sense of belonging and identification with the new community among newcomers. Conversely, intercultural exchange causes other cultures to be perceived as an enrichment rather than a threat.
These positive experiences of integration with the help of music are to be continued through music-related city explorations for residents of initial reception facilities and community accommodations.
