The Notenspur-Entdeckerpass – With Toni on the Trail of Tones

The Notenspur-Entdeckerpass (Music Trail Discovery Passport, German only) invites children to discover the Leipziger Notenspur, together with Toni, the mascot of the Kleine Leipziger Notenspur  (Little Leipzig Music Trail).
The Leipziger Notenspur is a cross-generational project in which children can playfully find points of contact for their own experiences with classical music. After all, many of the Leipzig "Notenspur composers" such as Richard Wagner, Clara Wieck, Robert Schumann, Edvard Grieg, Leos Janacek and Georg Philipp Telemann spent their childhood, youth or years of study in Leipzig and started families themselves.

The Kleine Leipziger Notenspur leads to selected stops along the "big" Notenspur with its 23 informative points. The task of following a trail – as represented by the stainless-steel inlays of the orientation system – in public space alone awakes children's curiosity and spirit of research and also infects parents and grandparents. At 12 locations, we offer audio scenes specially designed for children, which can be called up by telephone, in which the famous Leipzig musical personalities and their children come to life. At these stations, the Discovery Passport brings history to life through stories and riddles.

"We now have another family-friendly attraction in our city. The Discovery Passport and the Kleine Leipziger Notenspur are an excellent way to get our children excited about their city and music! You discover places and stories that you wouldn't have known without the Notenspur."
Prof. Thomas Fabian, Mayor and Councillor for Youth, Social Affairs, Health and Schools

The Notenspur-Entdeckerpass (German only) can be purchased for a nominal fee of €2.50 during opening hours at some of the Notenspur stops: e.g. at the Bach Museum, the Mendelssohn House, the Schumann House or at the Tourist Information Office (where the completed puzzle pages can also be handed in).
